It was feared that the Bristol VRT would be phased out completely in Cornwall as the Summer season got underway. Not so. Whilst significant reductions have taken place, the situation around Penzance in 2004 remains much as it previously was.

We begin Volume 7 by following the scenic service 81A Plymouth to Cremyll as it winds its way around Whitsand Bay and the delightful Millbrook area, a route neglected in previous volumes - we found it just in time!. Heading south-west we find VRs in Falmouth and St.Ives, along the scenic coastal routes and in Newquay. Western Greyhound, Somercourt and Truronian example also appear. Although other types feature, this video continues our tribute to the Bristol VRT.

Here we are in 2005 and yes they are still around. The VRTs of First Devon and Cornwall together with those of Western Greyhound and Somercourt feature in this volume, and there are different ones too! Series 2 No. 30001 is a very worthy addition. Other types , as always, do appear notably elderly Olympians but these are no match for the trusty Bristols on the hilly terrain along the Lands End Penninsular.
