Three of France's narrow gauge tourist lines each very different. The metre gauge Vivarais Railway runs for 20 miles up the steep Doux river gorge from Tournon sur Rhone south of Lyon to Lamastre.

The Abreschviller Forest Railway is a 70 cm operation in the Alsace region west of Strasburg. Both these lines use Mallet articulated compound locomotives.

The Baie de Somme Railway is a metre gauge system with two branches around the Somme estuary serving seaside towns. It has 2-6-0 tanks as the mainstay of motive power.

At Leighton Buzzard 8 different locomotives are seen during regular service and on the day of the Indian Gala.

Covers the two Baltic coast lines - The MolliBahn and the Rasender Roland. The Molli is famous for its long street running section through the cobbled streets of Bad Doberan, see the train seemingly inches away from shop fronts. Also Germany's only 900 mm gauge line features some of the fastest running on narrow gauge track, the 2-8-2 Tanks 1100 mm diameter driving wheels putting in a good turn of speed on some of the country sections. The Rasender Roland line on Rugen Island has some unusual locomotives including the Aquarius C, a 0-10-0 Tender Tank locomotive. The section of line down to the harbour at Lauterbach features dual gauge track with trains 'topped and tailed' by two locomotives.

UKRAINE Steam in the Snow’ covers the journey made by the Dzherelo Hotel train over the New Year period from 28th December to 4th January 2003-2004.

The steam action is with former Soviet steam classes FD 2-10-2, SO 2-10-0, SU 2-6-2, Yea 2-10-0, E 0-10-0, L 2-10-0 and narrow gauge 0-8-0 class Gr . The train ran from Kiev to Rudnitsa, Gaivoron, Grechany, Yarmolinsy, Kamenets Podolsky, Chernivtsy, Delyatin, Rakhov, Ivano Frankivsk, Lviv and back to Kiev.
